범성애(凡性愛)는 성을 구분하지 않거나 성과 관계 없이 사랑하는 것을 의미한다. 그리스어에서 유래한 '모두, 전체'를 뜻하는 접두어 "pan-"과 결합하여 "pansexual"(팬섹슈얼)이라고 한다.
접두어 "omni-"와 결합한 "omnisexual"(옴니섹슈얼)도 범성애다. 이 역시 pansexual처럼 모든 성 정체성에 이끌린다는 점에서 유사하나, 상대의 성 정체성을 확실히 인지하고 끌린다는 점에서 다르다.[1][2]
성적 끌림에 있어 상대의 성을 따지지 않는다는 점이 양성애 대신 이 용어를 쓰는 큰 이유이다.

A final distinction to make is between pansexuality and omnisexuality. Often, these two terms are used interchangeably because the prefixes of both words mean all. However, the key difference people note relates to the idea of pansexuality being gender-blind. Omnisexuality tends to recognize gender but says people are attracted to all genders whereas pansexuality is said to not notice gender and is also attracted to all (thus the term gender-blind).
